Things to do in Chicago this weekend are plentiful, and it feels genuinely good to be back. Life pulled me away from the blog for the past two weeks in the best possible way. Our youngest turned 10, which meant birthday celebrations took full priority. Also, public and private school spring breaks do not always align, so our family ended up celebrating two of them back to back. In between all of that, the Yeager Team gathered to celebrate something we are incredibly proud of. We were recognized as Gold Award winners at the 2025 Chicago Realtors Sales Awards for outstanding sales volume and number of transactions. Every award represents a family we helped, and celebrating that with our team was one of the highlights of our year. Now I am back, the city is in full spring bloom and this weekend is a genuinely great one. We have a dinosaur sleepover at the Field Museum, the city’s largest free outdoor playdate, a grand opening teaser on the Magnificent Mile and the best contemporary art fair in the country. Let’s get into all the best things to do in Chicago with kids and adults this weekend.
🧒 For the Kids
Dozin’ with the Dinos at the Field Museum
📅 Friday April 10 · 6pm through Saturday April 11 · 9am📍 Field Museum, 1400 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Museum Campus💰 Tickets required · Ages 6 to 12 · fieldmuseum.org
This is the kind of Chicago memory kids talk about for years. Sue the T. rex hosts a sleepover. Families with kids ages 6 to 12 bring their sleeping bags for a full night at the museum. Kids explore exhibits after dark, play games and cozy up by the giant dinosaur for bedtime stories.

Grab your flashlight and explore the halls as the lights go out. It is genuinely one of the most unique kid experiences in this city. Furthermore, the Museum Campus on a spring morning when you walk out at 9am is a pretty spectacular way to start a Saturday. Book fast at fieldmuseum.org. This one sells out every single time.
🏡 Realtor Mom Take: The Museum Campus anchors the South Loop, one of the most compelling value plays in Chicago right now. Downtown proximity, lake access and still meaningfully more attainable than Lincoln Park or River North. It is a neighborhood worth a serious look this spring.
City’s Largest Playdate at Maggie Daley Park
📅 Saturday April 11 · Morning📍 Maggie Daley Park, 337 E. Randolph St., Loop💰 Free · Register in advance for free CTA passes · Ages birth to 5
This free outdoor celebration at Maggie Daley Park is designed for children from birth to age 5 and their families. There are coloring stations, crafts, parachute games and Earth Day activities. Registration is required to claim your free CTA passes to get there and back.

Spring is finally here. Maggie Daley is one of the best urban parks in the country. Moreover, this event is completely free and right in the heart of the city. It does not get more Chicago mom than this. Pack snacks, bring the stroller and enjoy the first truly warm weekend of the season.
🏡 Realtor Mom Take: Streeterville and the Loop neighborhoods surrounding Maggie Daley Park are seeing strong spring buyer interest right now. If living steps from one of the best urban parks in America sounds like your next chapter, let’s talk.

Peak Spring Market: The Frenzy Is Real and the Window Is Now
What I Am Seeing on the Ground Right Now
I took some time away from the blog but I never stopped watching this market. As your local Chicago real estate expert, I want to be direct. We are at the peak of spring market right now. Most properties in our neighborhoods are selling in a single weekend. Sellers who are priced right and presented well are fielding multiple offers before Sunday night.
This level of intensity does not last forever. By June, things will start to normalize. Summer brings lifestyle competition, vacation schedules and a natural tapering of the frenzy we are seeing right now. The buyers who are active today are motivated, pre-approved and making fast decisions. That is a seller’s ideal environment.
A Personal Note From Our Team

🏆 We are so proud to share that the Yeager Team was recognized as Gold Award winners at the 2025 Chicago Realtors Sales Awards for outstanding sales volume and number of transactions. Every transaction represents a family we helped navigate one of the biggest decisions of their lives. Celebrating that with our team was one of the highlights of our year. Thank you to every client who trusted us with their move.
If you want that same level of dedication on your side this spring, the next six to eight weeks are your window. The conversation you have today directly impacts the price you command before the market normalizes. Reach out and let’s talk strategy.

Additionally, if any of the neighborhoods mentioned in this week’s Realtor Mom Takes have been on your mind, this is the weekend to start that conversation. The market is moving fast and the window for sellers is wide open right now.
