Spooky Zoo at Lincoln Park Zoo

Spooky Zoo provides a free, safe alternative to traditional trick-or-treating, complete with a variety of family-friendly entertainment. Starting at 10 a.m., kids can trick-or-treat at Chicago’s zoo while supplies last. The event also features interactive storytelling, live music on the Main Mall stage, a craft zone, and free carousel rides from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Don’t forget to come in costume for a fun-filled day!

Now in its 10th year, Arts in the Dark is a magical evening parade that celebrates Halloween as the “artist’s holiday,” uniting world-renowned institutions, prominent Chicago cultural organizations, key youth programs, and aspiring artists from all disciplines. This dazzling event captivates an audience of 50,000 with one-of-a-kind floats, spectacular puppets, and imaginative performances, all set against the iconic backdrop of historic State Street.

Night of 1,000 Jack-o’-Lanterns at Chicago Botanic Garden 

Enjoy a frightfully fun fall evening as you explore the garden after dark! This year’s collection of expertly carved pumpkins features designs inspired by popular album covers, creepy Chicago stories, spooky cartoons, and more to set the Halloween mood. As you stroll along the outdoor path, you’ll encounter live pumpkin-carving demonstrations, costumed performers, and seasonal food and drinks for purchase. It’s a night of (just a little) spooky fun for everyone!

Dress your furry best friend for the annual pet parade down North Halsted Street, from Aldine Avenue to Cornelia Avenue! Enjoy plenty of treats, giveaways, and a holiday photo booth for adorable pics.
