In case you haven’t heard yet, the plastic bag ban goes into effect this Saturday.  This will only effect stores with at least 10,000 square feet…so if your faves are Target and Jewel, they will be effected.  I don’t know about you, but I never liked the thousand of plastic bags I would get from shopping at Jewel, so I would often ask for a paper bag (sans handles) just so I would leave with less bulk.  We have enough to carry with all our kids gear, so I certainly welcome this change.

If you are like me, I love to purchase reusable bags, but I always leave them in the house or even in the car!  We will all have to make a conscious effort to remember to bring our reusable bags into the store, or be forced to purchase a new one at the checkout counter.

Now, if ‘they’ could only invent a biodegradable disposable diaper…

Enjoy Chicago,
