Spring break is approaching! In years past it was a no-brainer to hop on a plane and head for warmer places. Some of our family’s favorite trips have been to Naples, Florida to visit my parents. We can sit by the pool and relax while the kids are entertained for hours (and tired at the end of the day)!

This year we may not make it to warmer places for a typical spring break vacay. Even though it’s disappointing, there are still plenty of family friendly (and covid friendly) things to do to make the most of your spring break. I’ve picked out 3 activities in honor of my 3 kids, the sports lover, the girlie girl with a sweet tooth, and something for our littlest animal lovin’ boy. still sure to all please the whole family!

Holden and Ava diving into our homemade charcuterie board 🧀

But first… if you’re not ready to take the plunge into restaurant dining or outdoor experiences quite yet, one of my family’s favorite activities is as simple as making popcorn and cuddling up on the couch for a good movie. Level it up by ordering dinner from your favorite restaurants or make it a wine night (for the adults) and charcuterie for all!

🐢 For Ethan (4): Lincoln Park Zoo THE ZOO IS BACK! Reservations for the first weekend (Friday-Sunday March 5-7) go live this Sunday, February 28th at 4:30pm. Also keep in mind that a a special reopening celebration is being held on March 6th featuring s’mores 🍫 trivia and prizes and more. With much of the zoo being outside and the weather warming up in the coming weeks (fingers crossed!) this is a fantastic staycation activity going into March and April. How can anyone say no to the zoo!? 🦓🦒🦏

Holden @ Top Golf Schaumburg

⛳️ For Holden (10): If you’re wanting to venture a little bit away from the city, the whole Yeager family highly recommends Top Golf in Schaumburg! Social distancing is still in effect and there is plenty of room for families to gather and play within their own bay. Order food, have a little competitive fun, and learn some new skills. We had a blast!

Ava & her cute sweet tooth

🍭 For Ava (7): JoJo’s Shake Bar These shakes are guaranteed to get your kids jumping for joy (or from a sugar rush). Ava loooves marshmallows and all things sweet and pink so these are sure to float her boat. They also recently opened JoJo’s Candy Land, a pop up in River North running from February to April. The dining experience is considered outdoor dining but is inside a large decked out tent designed to be a real-life candy-land, with kid friendly food of course. Drinks go beyond milkshakes with “biggie hot chocolates” and cocktails for the adults! 🍹
