Lets Meet Up! Meet other Chicago Moms (and Dads) just Like You

Are you new to parenthood and/or new to Chicago? If you are looking for a way to meet new people with similar interests or just other parents to gab about parenthood well you have to check out http://www.MeetUp.com! I joined meetup.com when Holden was just 8 weeks old. It was the dead of winter, I was still on maternity leave, exhausted and I just wanted to get out of the house to have some adult conversation with other new moms like me. It was a great experience and I have met life long friends from this organized group of strangers all looking to meet people.

All you have to do is log on to http://www.meetup.com and search something you are interested in. For me it was ‘moms in the city, working moms, urban moms etc’ and I read about the groups and activities and picked the ones that suited us best. The other great thing about this site is that it is 100% free!  Some of the events may cost money, however to join the site and get active it is totally free. It may seem scary even as grown adults to jump in and meet new people, but everyone is in the same boat and in my case, craving adult convo (rather than goo goo ga ga with the baby).

Also, if you are new to Chicago and want to get active in a sans baby group there are plenty!   From comics to wine enthusiasts to bowling and everything in between.  There are even groups to go to the movies!
